PRAYER FOR ASKING GRACES

                                              THROUGH THE INTERCESSION

                                               OF THE SERVANT OF GOD

                                              POPE JOHN PAUL II

O Blessed Trinity

We thank You for having graced the Church

with Pope John Paul II

and for allowing the tenderness of your Fatherly care,

the glory of the cross of Christ,

and the splendor of the Holy Spirit,

to shine through him.

Trusting fully in Your infinite mercy

and in the maternal intercession of Mary,

he has given us a living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd,

and has shown us that holiness

is the necessary measure of ordinary Christian life

and is the way of achieving eternal communion with You.

Grant us, by his intercession, and according to Your Will,

the graces we implore, for ___________________________________

hoping that he will soon be numbered

among your saints.

Amen.

                                           PRAYER FOR ASKING GRACES

                                        THROUGH THE INTERCESSION

                                         OF THE SERVANT OF GOD

                                          FR. JERZY POPIELUSZKO

O God, Infinitely good, who didst favour Your servant Fr. Jerzy Popieluszko

with the grace of fidelity to the priestly vocation even unto martyrdom,

we beseech You, in the words of Pope John Paul II,

"That good may arise out of this death like the Resurrection out of the

Cross."  Grant that Fr. Jerzy, a steadfast defender of the rights of God

and the rights of man,  given to our country and to the world as a sign of victory of love over hate,

be raised to the glory of the Altar. Merciful God, at the intercession of the Servant of God, Fr. Jerzy,

grant me the grace for which I fervently ask, for __________________________________

Let the sacrifice of Fr. Jerzy's life, and his intercession with You,

contribute to the growth of the Christian faith, unity and peace in the world.

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

With the approbation of the Primate of Poland,

Jozef Cardinal Glemp, 07-03-1997. No. 736/NK/97.

ACT OF CONSECRATION OF A CHILD

TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY

Blessed Virgin Mary, * Queen of Heaven and Earth, * to your Immaculate

Heart,* the channel of all graces, * we consecrate this child * whom we have

received from God’s goodness. We offer him [her] to you * that you may present him

[her] to Your Divine Son, * that you may take him [her] under your loving, maternal

protection,* that you may preserve him [her] from dangers, * that you may keep him

[her] from all sin, * that you may make him [her] grow in piety * and in all

virtue * so that he [she] may always be worthy * to call himself [herself] your

child. May he [she] grow daily in wisdom and in grace, * may he [she] go through

life having you always as his [her] refuge and mother. * May all virtues

shine in him [her] * and may he [she] never offend your maternal Heart.

May the Eternal Father always look upon him [her] with delight * and see in

him [her] * a ray and reflection of your Immaculate Beauty.

And as today he [she] gladdens our home, * so may he [she] one day gladden

the Eternal Home * which we pray will be his [hers].   Amen.

Prayer For Priests

…O Eternal Father, may our earth be impregnated by that ocean of love gushing forth from the opened side of Your Jesus that it may bring forth holy priests, priests who like John, the Beloved Disciple, will gather up the Precious Blood in their chalices on the altars. Send us priests who will give You to souls with that plentitude of love which the Apostle John received as a pledge of tenderness at the foot of the Cross…

May your priests protect with jealous love Your Bride, the Church, just as St. John protected Mary, Your Mother, and took her into his own. Instructed by this tender Mother of Sorrows on Calvary, may these priests watch over Your children with the exquisite tenderness and care of a Mother. May they lead souls on to intimate union with You through Mary who, as the Gate of Heaven, is the sole dispenser of the treasures hidden in your Adorable Heart.

O Mary! Transfixed beneath the Cross by the sword which pierced the Heart of Your Divine Son….teach us how to please Jesus; let us run with you to His assistance when we hear His cry: ‘I thirst’….that cry which you heard at the foot of the Cross as He was expiring…Oh! Priests! Priests all on fire! True children of Mary who will give Jesus to souls, with the same tenderness and the same care with which you carried the little child of Bethlehem! In the Host, O Mother, your Jesus is once more little, like in the crèche! He does not have hands as delicate as yours to touch Him…..

…Mother of Sorrows!...Give Him a generation of priests formed at your school, in the delicacies of your virginal love!

-prayer recited daily by Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face
