The Adoremus Hymnal, published in 1997 (now in its third printing), was designed for use both in small parishes with few musical resources and in large parishes with full choirs. Following the general plan in Musicam Sacram, this hymnal consists of three major sections:

    1. the Order of the Mass;

    2. musical settings for the Ordinary of the Mass; and

    3. an excellent selection of the most beautiful hymns ever written -- for every         season of the liturgical year and other feasts and holidays.

Special Features of the Adoremus Hymnal

  •           Follows the principles of the Second Vatican Council's Constitution on the Liturgy and the post-Conciliar Vatican Instruction On Sacred Music
  •           Contains a carefully made but ample selection of the best hymns both English and Latin of the Church's tradition, as well as hymns more recently composed
  •           Includes Gregorian and English chant settings for the Ordinaries (Kyrie, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus, Agnus Dei)
  •           Selected by a committee of Church musicians, parish priests, religious and laity (the ones who will be doing the singing!)
  •           Includes the entire Order of Mass in Latin and English, with music for acclamations and responses
  •           Beautifully and sturdily bound, with two ribbons, using the highest quality acid-free natural paper
  •           Many traditional Latin hymns are included in both Latin and English versions (e.g., Ave Maria, Veni, veni Emmanuel)
