Macram Gassis, Bishop of El Obeid Diocese, Sudan, "I can bear witness to more than 20 years of religious persecution, enslavement, rape, torture, starvation and murder of my people at the hands of the Sudanese government. I can tell you of the 2.2 million people who have perished as the direct result of a campaign of genocide against Sudan's Christian and non-Muslim population—a death toll greater than all the victims in Bosnia, Kosovo and Rwanda combined"....... Issues discussed ranged from radical Islamic fundamentalism, to “on the ground needs” such as food, water, the construction of schools, hospitals, and wells. Three of the Sudanese Bishops were here in the United States that week including Sioux Falls, SD, raising awareness of the current plight facing Christians in their respective Dioceses. Youtube - Raymond Arroyo interviews Bishop Macram Gassis DAILY PRAYER: Lord, send forth your Holy Spirit upon our Christian brethren in South Sudan and the Nuba Mountains. Give them unflinching courage, strength and protection from all harm and danger, and may Blessed Mother Mary, Comforter of the Afflicted, and Queen of Peace, forever carry them in her arms. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen. For a charitable contribution or further information on Mary's Project MISSION HOPE SOUTH SUDAN, please contact us at:
